EAST
WOODHAY PARISH COUNCIL
HELD ON
TUESDAY 28TH MAY 2002
Litter.
The Chairman of the Amenities Committee will be meeting with a representative of Basingstoke and Deane shortly in a further attempt to sort out the litter situation.
Skateboard Ramp.
The ramp continues to cause problems. It is regularly vandalised, causing extra work on top of normal everyday maintenance. Safety is of paramount importance, and a ROSPA inspection and report is awaited which, it is hoped, will provide clarification as to whether major work is required.
Bus Shelter.
Permission has now been given to erect a Bus Shelter by the existing Bus Stop outside Masons Court. Much of the cost has been raised via a grant and donations and with everything now in place the shelter can now be ordered.
Area Opposite Masons Court.
The Council feels it would be a good idea to provide some parking facilities here, possibly in the form of a lay by. Proposed plans will therefore be drawn up and forwarded to the Area Surveyor (with a copy to the County Councillor) in order that he can ascertain feasibility and cost.
Highways.
Various Highways matters have been dealt with since the last meeting, including the installation of ‘dragons teeth’ outside St. Martin’s School, white lining and jetting of surface water drain at Douglas Ride. Several other areas which have been identified as requiring work include the surface water drain opposite Burley Moor, overhanging trees at Blindmans Gate and the small road to the rear of the triangle backing on to Woolton Lodge Gardens. These will be dealt with in the near future.
Parish Appraisal/Village Design Statement.
A quotation has been received for printing of questionnaires to be delivered to each household in the Parish. Volunteers will be required to deliver and collect these questionnaires, with the intention being that recipients will be requested to leave them on their doorstep for collection on a given date. A notice will be placed in Spectrum explaining about the questionnaire and giving prior warning of its arrival.
Annual Senior Citizens Party.
Saturday 12th October has been chosen as the date the date for this year’s event. Posters will be erected requesting any Senior Citizens new to the area to pass their details on to the Clerk.
